Everyone's flying Somewhere by A-W-DARCY Everyone's flying Somewhere by A-W-DARCY
Painting to be hung from the ceiling. Acrylic on canvas. 36 x 72 inches (large). Too put it in perspective I am 6 foot 2 inches tall and I am ruffly the same Length as this painting when I stand next to it.

For a period of time I became obsessed by plain trails. Visually they can be stunning and the questions that pose in my head; where is that plane going? where has it come from? Inside the plane there is a pod of people who all have there own story’s. When it lands they all go in there separate directions just like when a seed pod splits and the seeds shatter from one whole to many individuals, into there own directions. Likewise questions for the bird, where has it came from, where is it going? does it even know or is it doing it out of instinct, but then again you could say the same thing about human beings.

First of all, I really like the concept you have for this piece. I think the idea of "where is it going, where did it come from?" applies to a lot of people. It's cool how you connected that idea with the bird and the plane. It's very neat how the bird is in the foreground and the plane trails wrap around its head as it flies in the distance. The colour scheme works really well too. I like the different shades of blue you used.

One thing that bothers me I would say is the trail-like motion coming from the bird. It tends to flatten out the piece and makes the bird and the plane appear to be close to each other (making the plane appear to be miniature instead of far away). What would have helped that would be to add more contrast to the feathers of the bird so it would pop out just a bit more to show the dimension.

Overall, great work! I assume this may have taken a long time to do. :)
